Patrick Rossi
Therapist, LCSW
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience I have worked with all ages of clientele. My journey has taken me from supporting the elderly in residential care to aiding young people in both alternative and traditional school settings, as well as caring for severely traumatized at-risk youth. Additionally, I have assisted parents and couples in navigating interpersonal dynamics and relationships with each other.
In my work with the elderly, I engaged in meaningful conversations with residents who were physically and mentally disabled or terminally ill. These experiences taught me the value of professional emotional support and the importance of grief counseling. Over the past 12 years, I have dedicated myself to supporting severely traumatized youth, honing my skills in patience, rapport-building, conflict de-escalation, and both individual and group counseling.
In the school system, I managed intake meetings, pupil personnel meetings, re-evaluation and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, and spearheaded new program development. Within the medical field, I served as a hospital-school liaison, delivering therapy in school settings and performing mental health assessments in the Emergency Room. Additionally, I provided outpatient therapy for adults, adolescents, and emerging adults in partial hospitalization programs, focusing on emotional regulation skills, distress tolerance, life transitions, and traumatic events.
These varied experiences have deepened my commitment to the importance of mental health. I specialize in assisting youth and adults facing challenges such as loss, abandonment, trauma, terminal illness, anger management, depression, anxiety, emotional identification, and the need for emotional support. Modalities in which I have been trained include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Strength-Based Therapy, Anger Management strategies, and Conflict Resolution.
